ABOUT

Established in 2008 by Vincent, out of a love for all languages and the ability to travel the world and still work.

We are a full-time professional translation service... As language specialists, we never give up fighting with a sentence until it sounds natural and right. We mainly translate from English to French, but we can provide other languages as needed, so don't be afraid to ask. We have Translators all over the world waiting for your projects right now. All translations are proofread and approved by native speakers and you will always receive documents that are professionally translated, edited and proofread.

vyTranslations is based on the west coast of Canada, in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. We can be found working and traveling in our converted shuttle bus the Dorkasaurabus.

WHATEVER YOUR PROJECT IS...

I will reply to your requests as soon as possible, usually within the hour, (except if its the middle of the night). Best time to reach me is between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm. My working hours are VERY flexible and I will adapt them to your needs, including weekends.

Please note that I am located on the west coast of Canada, which is

GMT - 8:00 (Pacific Standard Time).

I once dreamed of running my own business and first began translating comic books and graphic novels from a young age. I developed a real passion for translating while I was working with the Francophone Association in the Yukon Territory, as a literacy coordinator.

I have over 13 years of experience in English to Canadian French translations with particular expertise in the Energy Sector, Health and Social Services, Education and Literacy, Nutrition, Immigration, Economic Development, Tourism and Travel, Canada’s North, Sports, Marketing, and Literature. I am also specialized in writing and editing French documents such as letters, proposals, resumes, newsletters, etc.

I was born and raised in Belgium, with French as a mother tongue, and I have been living in Canada over the last 14 years.

University Degrees:  Translation (University of Manitoba), Bachelor of Social Work and Heath Promotion and Communication certificate (University of Liège), Business Administration (HEC, Liège).

I am a member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC) - English to French.

I ran my own catering business for over 15 years before I decided to hang up my Chef jacket for the last time and join Vincent on his adventure.

My role is to assist Vincent with what I can to make his life easier. If that means staying awake all night feeding him tea and keeping him awake so he can meet the deadline, then that's what I do. I am also responsible for coordinating our various Translators here and around the world. Making sure all your documents are being translated on time!

Certifications:  Business Management (Camosun College, Victoria), Marketing Certificate (Camosun College), Chef Papers with Red Seal (Camosun College).

We are lucky enough to be able to work from home and it would not be the same with out these three....

Knowing two languages doesn't make you a translator any more than having ten fingers makes you a pianist.
